Il 18 marzo siamo partite da Venezia in tre, due pediatre, Lorenza e Vitalia, e un’assistente, Claudia, “very skilled in pediatrics”, per recarci nel distretto di Ankober, Regione Amhara dell’Etiopia. 200911_1The cultural event, “Collateral effects: Orazio Antinori, a life in travel”, is taking place on the 8th of July until the end of August at the Centro Espositivo Rocca Paolina (CERP) in Perugia. The event has been organized to coincide with the bicentenary of  Orazio Antinori's birth, a famous explorer and naturalist of Perugia.
The commemoration consists of a number of conferences and meetings concerning the various experiences of Antinori throughout his journeys in the Horn of Africa and the Near East. These meetings are to be accompanied by an exhibition on the life and works of the explorer.
The schedule of events will include conferences with national and international experts, seminars, projections of photos and videos, theatrical activities and a coffee ceremony. All this has been accomplished in the name of a renewed multicultural spirit and with the direct involvement of the Ethiopian community living in Umbria. IPO will be participating in the event selling Ethiopian handcrafts.
